I’m often asked, what fragrance is great for the wedding day? I always say, find an oil based fragrance that is light and easy on the nose. An oil based fragrance will last the entire day, even with your adrenalin glands in super hype mode. You will tend to perspire more and it may be hard to find the time to replenish your fragrance.

I’m loving Leila Lou right now, not only for the wedding day… but I have been applying daily as I’m literally stopped and asked what fragrance are you wearing? It is a small bottle that will last a long time because you need so little.  I catch myself smelling my wrist all day LOL!  If you are tempted you can find it on my e-store…delicious I say!

I must say this B’nai Mitzvah (bar Mitzvah for twins) turned out to be one of my favorites. I’ve been blessed to be able to decorate several events with fun themes but this one just came together so nicely! The boys loved formula 1 racing. Especially Ferrari’s! Always with boys I find there is a bit of a challenge to make sure the decor is not too feminine in any way. You will see that Mark from Marks Garden did an amazing  job incorporating flowers with race cars…Take a look at the kids area…we designed the coffee tables out of tires and the round lounge couches with race flags coming out the top … fabulous! Thanks Romina and Edgar!

The panels which hid the old wood walls at the country club were dressed in grey and white and sponsor logo decals (like at the races) were place strategically around the room..Thanks Bob!

We had a tented  outside area which we draped in red and hung fabulous light boxes again with logos that lit the game area for the kids.

We placed 6 plasmas on the stage to add dimension. The plasmas showed car racing and the black and white checked dance boxes were crowded by the kids all night. Of course my favorite part were the tables. The linens were grey with white welting. Black and white checked cushion covers and orange napkins. The menus and napkin rings were designed by my friend ellen and really helped to tie it all together!

This is a wonderful way to customize your cake, with your wedding colors even fabric that you may have used for your linens..your cake will definitely stand out amongst the rest…I use to dread figuring out how to display cupcakes, they always look too flat when they just sit on plates… how cute is the picture below!

Sometimes you just want a small cake  just to cut but, you still want it to stand out…these cake stands are a perfect way to make the guests walk over and look at your beautiful cake and the stand of course! Give Kathy Jo a call she is very talented!

Hi Friends,

Last week the only thing I found at the Long Beach Flea Market was some Tagalong Girls! I couldn’t resist buying some Girl Scout Cookies! How cute are they?

Onto the dinner…we kept everything white until the doors opened to beautiful shades of purple…my pictures are during set-up and just a few after…I had to get into work mode but I will most definitely have this entire wedding on my site when the photographer is ready.

BEFORE

The client bought really cute ballet Isotoners for the women to change into when their feet gave out from dancing…and boy could they dance!

Just when they thought the party was over we guided the guest downstairs to what we named the Buddha Bar and the DJ began!

We served breakfast at 2am and you would never have thought these guests ate dinner. We serve traditional Mexican chilaquiles (I know I botched the spelling of that!) and the party went on…We brought in a Buddha statue that my camera did NO justice to. Brandon lit the room to perfection and behind the buddha the background continued to change, it was awesome! Another favorite of mine is Revelry’s new high top cocktail table. Black acrylic box with a Chandelier glowing inside..Love that! The guests received as a turn down gift a silver heart with a mother of pearl lid filled with white jordan almonds. The almonds are for luck and fertility!

Background for DJ.

Hi Friends, Here are some ceremony pics from the Maui wedding… I promise when the photograher gets me the good ones we ill add it to our website and I also promise I will be getting a new camera! We set the ceremony up in a semi circle. The chavari chairs were covered and tied with what I call the sexy sash (a low bow tied to the side).

We then placed the wedding program (a beauty designed by Lehr and Black) and the heart shaped sparklers which had a box of matches attached inscribed with the bride and grooms name and “A Perfect Match” (an oldie but goodie saying ) …we also had a note attached explaning to the guests to light the sparklers after the bride and groom said “I Do”.

We separated the fabric and cocktail area hide right behind…thses pics ar not great sorry!

We brought in white wood bars with an inlaid mirror…

We had pillows handpainted with the couples initials. The furniture groupings helped to fill the large pavillion.

Brandon owner and designer of Peterson Lighting washed the entire floor with these wonderful unique gobo designs.

all the fabric was pulled back by floral tiebacks

Tomorrow I will try to post the reception and the after party “Budha Bar”.
