I simply love this wedding! The Resort at Pelican Hill is truly a beautiful location. The ocean, amazing chefs, luxurious rooms, the best Bridal Suite I’ve seen, EVERYONE who works there is superb, but the one thing that Pelican Hills has that no one else has is GEORGE NICKELS! We just love him! As the head of Weddings he truly made our job so uncomplicated and breezy. To all my fellow event planners if you have an opportunity to visit this resort ask for George…there is no way you wouldn’t have a successful event…ok now on to Julie and Paul”s Wedding! There were so many elements that I loved about this wedding. Mark’s Garden designed incredible florals. Revelry helped design many elements for the various areas…The ceremony in creams and whites. Three different chair covers, LOVE the crystal lamps propped on acrylic bases that were interspersed between the aisle and the chairs. Julie our bride, was very involved and gave us a picture of inspiration for the aisle…I love the aisle…the reception was all red and black. Handmaid Magnolia Trees, 2 long rectangular tables each set for 35. mixture of covered chairs and ghost chairs. Two beautiful chair covers for the Bride and Groom…After dinner a fabulous black and white after party. DJ Tendaji rocked the music and everyone danced for 2 hours straight! Cigar Roller and color coordinated candy shoppe made the late night fun. The room was  full of love … what a wonderful beginning to a fabulous life together! Enjoy the pics! xoxox Mindy

Sometimes when planning a clients wedding I am fortunate to become close with some of the members of the family! LaLa’s Aunt and Uncle had a family backyard celebration at their house on the outskirts of New York. They invited me and Amy to the celebration. I was hesitant at first because we still had a lot of work to do before the big day but Lala insisted. I’m so glad she did! I truly felt this was one of the warmest, loving, happy families I have been around in a long time! Their love and happiness spilled all over this party! From the minute the car pulled up you felt the beat of the music. We barely got through all the guests dancing and laughing and jumping around on the driveway-dancefloor area!
The warm welcome, hugs and introductions to everyone could not be outdone by the delicious homemade Puerto Rican buffet. The decor was lovely, the weather perfect and even lightning bugs in the trees were magical!
(we don’t have those in Los Angeles!) This was the beginning of a fabulous weekend! After I experienced the coming together of these two families I knew it was going to be a fantastic, heartfelt and memorable weekend! It truly was and I feel like I made friends for a lifetime! Enjoy…xox Mindy

Back to blogging LOL!  I was honored to help plan a wonderful wedding in Charleston, South Carolina at the beautiful Lowndes Grove House for the sweetest couple Jamila and Aaron Curry.  At the wedding rehearsal, Jamila gave her Bridesmaids these precious personalized bears created by www.anytimebears.com . There was also a pretty necklace and a cute bridesmaid t-shirt.

The Rehearsal Dinner was at Bubba Gump a very fun venue! Casual and delicious! I love the flowers that ooh events did for us. A galvanized container filled with the brides favorite colors and an added surprise they personalized them with the couples initials.



Above you can see the cute lighting that hung in the reception tent. Loved the structure for the couple to stand under, this is the “Before” version. I was so excited when ooh events delivered the personals. Not because of how beautiful they were and yes they were, but look at the fabulous containers for each bridesmaid and the one in the middle for Jamila! This set-up is a photographers dream! Think about the extra time they put into making each one a little gift for the ladies!

Below, meet Taylor who helped us in South Carolina…now i know it always looks like a breeze planning weddings LOL but here is a perfect example of solving a problem. On the programs we realized we left off the flowergirls name…I couldn’t let that happen so Lehr and Black next day aired the top version of program with the correct info. We were able to pull off a layer and tape the new one on. Taylor, as you can see was busy at work and asked me not to interrupt him while he had his taping rhythm going. :) (of course until fed ex showed up with the printing i wasn’t breathing well!)

Love this absoulutely adorable bridesmaid dress by Waters. Just enough color to tie everything together.

The 2 flags from their colleges really personalize their big day.

The fans rested on the chairs and read..” Jamila and Aaron’s biggest fan”.. The program we placed under the fan

The brides dream of “fruitpunch fushion” color was complete when ooh events hung hundreds of orchids from the arbor that the couple said their vows under.

The beautiful cake was made by Molly at  d’lish desserts and it tasted d’lish!  Check them out at www.dlishdessert.com. The cake was complete with a gorgeous initialed cake topper and of course the family wouldn’t be complete without a bobble head for each member!

The wedding was on July 3rd so we thought a cute favor would be 3 heart shaped sparklers and  an American flag.

We passed them out as the guests departed and wished them a happy 4th!

As the sun went down the party just began ahhhh beautiful memories….enjoy xox Mindy

The bride loved lime, black and white for their color theme. Eden from End Designs created the florals. I love the sand ceremony set up and all the candles hanging in the ceremony. Michel’s mom found mason jars that the hotel filled with the grooms favorite “Sweet Tea” and “Sweet Lemonade”. Amy and Kristen placed them on one of our Bling Bars for some extra sparkle. This large size jar is good for a parting favor but a smaller mason jar is better when guests are using the jars to drink from at the bar. We tied a cute note on the jar that read “This Love is Sweet!” The tables were dressed in lime cloths and black and white damask runners. Michel brought us pictures of inspiration and it was very helpful for the over-all look. Black chandeliers hung over the guests and I was told that it was quite the dancing crowd! Love That!!
