Mauied in Maui

Hi Friends, Here are some ceremony pics from the Maui wedding… I promise when the photograher gets me the good ones we ill add it to our website and I also promise I will be getting a new camera! We set the ceremony up in a semi circle. The chavari chairs were covered and tied with what I call the sexy sash (a low bow tied to the side).

We then placed the wedding program (a beauty designed by Lehr and Black) and the heart shaped sparklers which had a box of matches attached inscribed with the bride and grooms name and “A Perfect Match” (an oldie but goodie saying :) ) …we also had a note attached explaning to the guests to light the sparklers after the bride and groom said “I Do”.

We separated the fabric and cocktail area hide right behind…thses pics ar not great sorry!

Love this Bar arrangement

We brought in white wood bars with an inlaid mirror…

We had pillows handpainted with the couples initials. The furniture groupings helped to fill the large pavillion.

Brandon owner and designer of Peterson Lighting washed the entire floor with these wonderful unique gobo designs.

all the fabric was pulled back by floral tiebacks

Tomorrow I will try to post the reception and the after party “Budha Bar”.

Thanks for visiting my blog. :)

From Simple to Sensational

Hi Friends…
One of my favorite parts of my job is transforming a room into the unexpected.
The ceremony location at the Ritz Carlton Maui was in a large metal pavilion. I promised the client we could make it ethereal and white and the bride loved the trees in Avitar
so we added those down the aisle. It takes a village to build this kind of event and I was lucky enough to have my guys from revelry with me…love them…we hand-painted the aisle runner right on location using the monogram and cherry blossoms that were on the wedding program. I also enclosed pictures of the transformation of the trees from twigs to fantasy.

More to come tomorrow of the ceremony, cocktails, reception and???

Rain didn’t ruin the Luau just my Camera!

Hi Friends, I’m back home now so it may be easier to get you caught up on our Maui Destination Wedding.

The Rehearsal Dinner, a Luau that would take place outdoors under the Hawaiin stars, buttttt it was drizzling all day long. Melissa who is my right arm, said “Mindy you have to make the call, inside or outside?” I felt here we are in Hawaii and we have to have one event outdoors! So I said a prayed and the client said stick a sissor in the ground and it won’t rain!

I was loading the last few guests on the shuttle and next thing that came over the walkie “Ummmm Mindy it is a down pour what should we do?

I must say this was the first party ever that I didn’t have an area of protection or bad weather plan… so where did the guests go? Some ran in the bathrooms and ofcourse  the photographer got fab photos of that. But most of them took a napkin put it over their heads and enjoyed themselves! I have never experienced a crowd with better attitudes and  sense of humor. My dream guests…The Luau went on, the hula dancers and fire thrower were a great hit and I looked up to the big guy in the sky and said Mahalo :)

The only thing that didn’t survive was my camera…sorry for the blurry pictures but maybe you can make out some of the hawaiin decor. My favorite was the Tiki Bar and the vintage colored glass weights hung with rope  from the thatching…that picture is not good but use your imagination.

When the guests got back to their room they had a darling “turn down gift”

A Weekend Survivor Kit! I took pictures for you to see the contents… very cute and the guest not only laughed but actually had to use some of the contents. Especially the foot soak!

A Welcome Dinner

Hi Friends,
Aloha…The second night in Maui more guests arrived and they had a lovely Welcome Dinner. My favorite part was the colors we used. Yellow and Green my combo of the year…bright, happy, colors filled with energy! We created large menus for the buffets (thanks Lehr and Black) and the flowers just gorgeous. Marks Garden traveled with us to the Island.

Then after dinner they came back to their rooms to find the Thursday night “Turn Down Gift: A beautiful candle and match box. The poem attached read
“A Perfect Match”
We threw our hearts out and made an extraordinary catch!
We hope you light this candle, may it shine bright!
Please remember us and this wonderful night!

Enjoy the pictures and Mahalo for coming to my blog :) Mindy

Movie Night!!!!!

Hi Friends,  The first night here we had a Movie Night. Not all the guests had arrived but the client wanted something easy to entertain the guest. It was so fun and just enough because the guests were tired from traveling.

We also offered Hot Dogs with all the toppings..beer and soft drinks. My favorite item was the custom printed popcorn containers LOVE!  The Ritz Carlton has a lovely theatre and it worked out  beautifully…enjoy the pics. xoxox Mindy
