Hi Friends as a lot of you already know we were so lucky to have Amy Atlas at our ridiculous event a few weeks ago…we loved the colors she used to create a beautiful “fashion” forward design for us…and delicious too!

Here’s a sneak peek to the blog but check out all the pics athttp://amyatlas.blogspot.com/2009/10/pictures-of-our-dessert-table-from.html

More Flea Market Finds

Flea Market

Love my Sundays. I do however do not feel it is a Sunday if I don’t find a flea market to venture through. So everytime I can get up and get out there I will report back my findings…Also any day now (I will let you know) I will be selling some of my finds on my wed store…now I usually have a hard time letting go of my goodies but I don’t want those of you who like to sleep in on Sundays to miss out on the treasures!

Burlap is huge, in tablecloths, floral containers and now furniture…I shot a picture of this because I love the look for a party! I didn’t buy it…but I will make a furniture grouping for a fabulous “green” inspired event.

Look at those cute small pillows…so easy to make for a favor or couch pillow grouping or baby gift or shower gift or project at a ladies luncheon or….. ? Looks like they took 2 pieces of burlaps about a 7×7. Stenciled the letter on (it was only on 1 side but why not do both?) in black paint then hand stitched it  in chocolate brown yarn shut (and it felt like foam filling inside). You can spray stencil in holiday colors for a great Xmas secret Santa gift or for Hanukkah too. It would be cute to spell out Merry Christmas laying on a couch…or don’t make a pillow just use the one burlap side and hang from a clothesline and attach with wooden clothespins signs like Ho Ho Ho or Naughty? or Nice?…

The few items I did buy were these seashell flowers…I love them. The seller only had 4, and she said she had them for a long time. When I got home I placed them in a cut crystal vase and they looked divine. My son said “Mom why do you buy things like that?” well I answered, ”they just make me feel happy”. He looked at me and said “well a new ipod will make me feel happy too! :) I said well if I bought you a new ipod then I couldn’t buy something else for me next week. “Ha Ha” he said,  just looked at me and rolled his eyes…

I was on a hunt for Vintage Christmas items. I have a client who wants me to decorate her living room with just vintage pieces…Now for a Jewish gal this is a dream come true! Shopping for Xmas has always been a fantasy of mine let alone a vintage Xmas…so I just started and found some of these treats…The dishes date back to the 50’s and we are going to mix them with solid colors and hopefully another set if I’m lucky next week.

Enjoy the pics xox Mindy

Color my Wedding…

I sometimes get up in the middle of the night and just search the web for inspiration. It could be for fashion to add new pieces of clothing for a season or new paint colors (Farrow and Ball,,,obsessed)
or, new color combos to suggest to my bride and grooms…I came accross this fashion show and the colors made my arms tingled..yes I do get that excited about color…take me to a art supply store and I lose my mind :) Take a look at these 3 combinations for color inspiration.

This spring, look at the two toned peach palette. I do have brides who love to add a touch of peach or coral but look how fab to mix differents tones of it…all peach tulips, or dahlias with a touch of coral for depth fab!

ahhhh want to make a peach pie right now!

Most of you know I love blue…but am not a fan of blue florals. I’m loving this blue combo for Spring- Summer. Notice the blue in the sweater, then the touch of peachy pink acccent in the skirt and the blue-grey skirt ahhh devine. White and creme florals mixed with a Massage or Sahara rose would be delicious.

And the last one that caught my eye was also in the blue tones. The cornflower top mixed with the grey skirt would make a beautiful combo…adding in a richer platinum with the blue. Yummy. Think navy cloths, platinum accents and sterling roses…bold yet chic! Enjoy…xox

A Blog That Is Cookin!

Hi Friends! Sometimes it isn’t all about the event (well, just sometimes!) but I want to share a blog with you, my family and friends.

Meet Tali and Tudy.. They have created a blog called Eat Comfy, Go Lightly! This blog is just great down home recipes that taste good, look good and best of all, guilt free! Yes, I have to mention the word healthy,  I don’t know about you, but I’m finding that my figure is getting fuller  especially with all these new dessert shops opening!  It’s time, I have to be proactive with not only myself but my kids and those I love. Feeding the kids the delicious mac and cheese and not worrying about the calorie intake is definitely a plus …I have no time to cook but when I do, my kids and hubby think that I’m a wonder woman. These recipes are easy, so uncomplicated…and for a large group dinner and or fabulous buffet items most of the recipes work really well.
Isn’t this how Julie started blogging by making Julia Child’s recipes… (great movie by the way)
Hey Tali and Tudy I hope you mention me when you get your own TV show on the Food Network…:) One Could Dream!
Have to try the Halloween cupcakes for my little one…maybe I will go from wonder woman to The “QUEEN” Mother. :) xox Mindy

"OH" Good Time in OHIO

Hi Friends…had a wonderful time when i was visiting my son at college last week. What we don’t have here in California (and I love LA) is the most beautiful trees I have ever seen. The colors of the leaves are truly remarkable. I couldn’t stop imagining what I could do with all those leaves! A tablecloth? A aisle treatment? A Chandelier? Ahhhhh so many dreams..but the reality is it was family time so I had to get the party thoughts out of my mine and concentrate on the beauty of my family! Missing my having big son with us, who had to work, but a great time anyway…enjoy a few pics…
