Hello Dolly!

There were so many dresses at the Academy Awards that were reminiscent of the famous fishtale dress that Barbie wore in the 60’s. Barbie had the best clothes and accessories and if you are looking for an excuse to have a fun party why not have a Barbie Birthday Party or Barbie Shower??? Yes as adults we can celebrate with a doll! For an invite it would be cute to say…”Be a Doll and Celebrate with Me” or  A Couples Shower “For Guys and Dolls!” I was in New York last week and went in to Bloomingdales where they had a cute section of Barbie Clothing and accessories to celebrate her big year. I bought a fun t-shirt that read “Anything Ken can do Barbie can do better! Love that! Get ready to see alot of this doll around town…

And the Best Dress goes to….

and was trying to decide whose dress I loved. Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Dior Couture made quite an impression. Her dress would really make a beautiful wedding gown in fact there were many dresses that looked like they could be wedding gowns! But I think my most favorite was Anne Hathaways. Not the one in the singing number but the beaded one she wore on the red carpet I think it was Armani. Many trends come from the award shows. Did you see all the Swarovski Crystal curtains! That made quite a statement especially how it caught the light and looked different at every angle. Ok back to the show more comments to come….xox Mindy

Instead of a shoe it was "I DO!"

Brad told Amanda to go treat herself to something special (as she had been really good lately trying to save)…So letting Amanda’s good friend in on the secret Brad had a plan…Amanda and her girlfriend were to meet at Bloomingdales and as soon as Amanda chose a pair of shoes to try on, the salesperson went in the back and guess who came out with them? You got it Brad! (of course this wonderful groom had gone to the shoe department to map out the whole plan!) He got down on one knee and opened the shoe box and there was the ring…ahhhhhh everyone cheered them on and Bloomingdales will be in their memories forever. Congrats to Amanda and Brad! If the wedding is anything like the engagement I know it will be fantastic…

Navy is the new Black

Color this year…when i ask the brides coming in “what color they are thinking of  for their bridesmaid dresses” I’m noticing that a large percentage are saying NAVY! Even though their color for their weddings may be pink or lavender or sunset tones…I love it! Navy looks softer than black. Even the groomsmen are wearing navy suits or tuxedos…so gorgeous! (Sometimes I laugh because I think of Steve Martin in Father of the Bride with his Navy ”Copied” Giorgio Armani Tuxedo) But it is very chic and looks great in the Pictures…Picture any color flower bouquet against Navy,

Red, Yellow, Fushia even Orange! Ahhhhh B-u-tiful!
