Not Just a Fireplace

ktla-001.jpg Hi, I know I have been in blogging heaven but I’m home relaxing for the first time in 2008. I’m hanging with my children and hubby (my favorite thing to do!) and watching movies and playing board games. Lot’s of thoughts running through my head …hey did I tell you I have a new invitation line coming out with The Inviting Company? It premiers in January at the Atlanta Gift Show…Hope you like it…oh I’m suppose to be talking about fireplaces…

If you are having an event at home or at a venue with a fireplace, don’t forget about it. Fireplaces are precious, romantic, and magical. Some are just there and don’t even work but don’t ignore them. I have filled fireplaces with all different size candles, and also have filled fireplaces with various sized vases overflowing with flowers or as simple as bud vases each with one rose. But if the fireplace can be lit…Light it…if  the weather is too warm don’t ignore the fireplace … decorate it with something as simple as family pictures or if there is extra money in the budget drape it with garland or flowers or hanging crystals. Most important put all fires out before you go to sleep! Mindy

Reflecting on 2008

habitat-las-vegas-doug-and-ken-018.jpgHi all, who have been so wonderful to me, my family and this blog :)

2008 has been a wonderful year!  My middle son got a clean bill of health a year after being diagnosed with cancer. The Wedding Book is doing great and I had an amazing experience traveling to over 21 cities on my book tour ! We had a great

year at Mindy Weiss Party Consultants. With the ever changing economy we will have to be very creative in 2009 trying to come up with price conscience ideas that will fit into everyone’s budget.  The Inviting Company ask me to join them and help design a fun and affordable invitation line for all you brides and entertainers….And one more exciting thing happened in 2008 I turned 50!!!! That’s me and my cake in the pic…

Happy New Year! Hope to meet a lot of you in 2009! Love, Mindy

Artful Holiday

engaged-and-art-dinner-010.jpgHappy Holidays Friends…I just love the way I feel around the Holidays and also that I get a week off to re-generate my brain and body! Before I left for the break we coordinated a very charming x-mas party for an Art Counsel. We chose Jewel tones like Purple, Navy, Red and some greens. Very classic and full of charm without using traditional “red and green”for color. I found miniature art easels at Pearl Art Store to hold the placecards just to add something from the art world.  As party favors we found this fantastic guy who does miniature etch-a-sketch portraits of each person…it was awesome especially because the guests who attended have seen it all….and the hostess wanted a party favor. If you are interested in his info let me know! I hope to blog more in 2009….in my next blog i’m going to show you a pic of the perfect chocolate that went wonderfully with this event….big Kiss and Hug for the Holidays and if you just got engaged stay tune for some fun creative ways to make your wedding A-mazing….Mindy
