"Yes we Can" never forget today!

michelle-barack-obama-n_3.jpgWhat a day! I don’t know about you but I couldn’t hold my tears back!

I’m so full of hope that we can go forward and feel safe and at peace with our country. As President Obama spoke I was thinking about all my brides getting married in 2009 and everyone celebrating a special event during such a historical time in our lives. I feel such great energy emerging everywhere…hope is powerful! Let’s not forget those who are not as lucky as we are enjoying the freedom we do in the United States of America. While planning your gift registry think about an option for your guests to donate to a charity that is important to you and your future spouse.  On your website let your guests know that a portion of your monetary gifts will go to those less fortunate. Yes, it will still be all about your big day but I can guarantee, you will stay grounded and feel amazing just knowing that you have shared a piece of one of your happiest days with someone else…”YES YOU CAN!”

A start to a great meal!

kids-103.jpg We had a great tasting with a couple not long ago. The only thing we had a problem with was deciding which appetizer to choose. We all loved the three choices. Besides them being beautifully presented they were DE-licious. One great advantage to the job is the food tastings. Of course tastings make it quite difficult to stay on a diet but hey I wouldn’t want my clients to decide without me :)   So the chef had a great suggestion, he said he could make each item smaller and make a tasting plate with all three choices. Brilliant! Not only would this be unique and beautiful, but with all these choices some of the food challenged guests are sure to find something they could eat and enjoy. Mindy

engaged-and-art-dinner-009.jpgHi …When thinking about the details of your event don’t forget the little ones that could be sitting right in front of your guests. Like the picture from my last blog this is from the same event for the Art Counsel. We found these gorgeous chocolates from Mariebelle that went perfect with our table and the guests attending appreciated the fact they were like little works of art. Delicious, unique, colorful and sparks conversation all good things to look for when designing your event.

Not Just a Fireplace

ktla-001.jpg Hi, I know I have been in blogging heaven but I’m home relaxing for the first time in 2008. I’m hanging with my children and hubby (my favorite thing to do!) and watching movies and playing board games. Lot’s of thoughts running through my head …hey did I tell you I have a new invitation line coming out with The Inviting Company? It premiers in January at the Atlanta Gift Show…Hope you like it…oh I’m suppose to be talking about fireplaces…

If you are having an event at home or at a venue with a fireplace, don’t forget about it. Fireplaces are precious, romantic, and magical. Some are just there and don’t even work but don’t ignore them. I have filled fireplaces with all different size candles, and also have filled fireplaces with various sized vases overflowing with flowers or as simple as bud vases each with one rose. But if the fireplace can be lit…Light it…if  the weather is too warm don’t ignore the fireplace … decorate it with something as simple as family pictures or if there is extra money in the budget drape it with garland or flowers or hanging crystals. Most important put all fires out before you go to sleep! Mindy
