My niece got engaged! I’m so excited..Sydnee is like a daughter to me and since I have 3 sons (I do love my older boys girlfriends)…this wedding will be so much fun to plan! My sister has already surrendered! Josh asked my sister, his mom and me to decorate their apartment while they were out to dinner. I designed a large heart on their bed and placed my wedding book in the middle…turned it to the “Spreading the News” chapter hoping to be one of the first calls after he popped the question. Much more fun stories of planning Syd and Josh’s wedding to come…Congrats!

A Treat for your Feet!
Hi friends….I found a new obsession! “Foot Buffer Pro!” Every Saturday night I come home from an event and my feet are throbbing! Not only are they sore but the bottoms feel like sandpaper! I came across these pads and gave it a try. OH MI is all I can say….the sponge is flower shaped and it is like secretly filled with this soft foamy soap that doesn’t seem to run out…one side is a loofah and the other a sponge..My feet feel like butt-ah. Hey they are cute for a bridesmaids gift before your big day….or a parting gift for those who danced all night. I got mine at www.footbufferpro.com. Mindy
Las Vegas…City of Lights
Hi Friends….We were coordinating a wedding at The Wynn Las Vegas Hotel. I was trying to stay away from the Craps table (I do like to gamble when in Vegas) and I happened to walk by a clothing store (shopping another favorite) and look what inspiration I found hanging over the leather coats! I thought these lanterns looked fabulous. You never know where you will find design inspiration! Where ever my job takes me I look for inspiration for my events. Lighting, florals in a hotel lobby, paint combination on walls, even the furniture in a hotel lobby can spark an entire theme for your celebration. Don’t just look straight ahead as you venture out…you never know what you might find hanging right above you!
Record this Idea
Hi Friends, It has been a great year for Holiday ideas. I thank my lucky stars that I’m able to share some of my crazy and fun ideas with you and also in People magazine.
If you are a subscriber of People Magazine you received an extra suplement where I designed some tables of Holiday menu ideas on a budget. We were inspired by Ashlee and Pete’s Wedding where we made passing trays by blowing up playing cards to follow their Alice in Wonderland theme. I wanted to find a colorful unique tray or display item for the Holidays. So we found Vintage Holiday Records with covers in good shape. We coverd the top of the record with clear acetate and placed delicious appetizers on the albums…What a hit! Think about this for a Valentine’s Day Party too. Find LOVE song records like Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin…the records cost us .99 can you believe that! Mindy
To the Nines
I was so lucky to be on KTLA news this morning. I wanted to share some of the tips we created for the show. The segment was about x-mas and new year entertaining on a budget. I’m a big fan of being “Home for the Holidays” so we designed a party in my kitchen. Hey everyone ends up there anyways right? The next few blogs will be about our fun set-up and hopefully can give you some ideas for your holiday celebrations. One of my very talented event coordinators from my office, Amy helped design the food and decor set-up she did a great job! Thanks Amy! The picture here is a simple example of a fun hanging treatment from your light fixtures, x-mas trees, door knobs…all we did was print out on card stock different fonts of the number 9
(for 2009) Thanks to my friend Ellen who spray glued and glittered them not only in silver but black and white glitter too. We used platnium ribbon to hang the 9′s, but I think they would look so great either in different colored ribbons or any ribbon that follows the theme of your holiday decorations. Love simple stuff…I Love Martha but just can’t perfect the difficult projects….Let’s Party this Hoilday to the NINES! Mindy
